Butter not

Brummel & Brown spread

Noshing & Sipping by Theresa Regli

A yogurt-based bread spread sounded too odd, and too intriguing, not to try. Turns out that this combination of vegetable oil and low-fat yogurt is creamy and tastes a lot more like butter than many other "tastes-like-butter" products. Brummel & Brown also contains a lot fewer artificial flavors than most of the competition, since the yogurt lends a naturally creamy taste. A one-pound tub costs about $1.60 at area supermarkets, including Star Market and Stop & Shop.
