See power
Outlaws and yachts at the MFA

How to top Ralph Lauren’s cars at the MFA? Maybe with Bill Koch’s yachts. Two of them, America3 and Il Moro di Venezia (the Koch-piloted winner and the Koch-purchased loser from the 1992 America’s Cup), will be anchored on the museum’s front lawn, and inside you’ll be able to see more than 100 works — everything from paintings by Monet and Modigliani to boat models and Native American objects and firearms that once belonged to Jesse James, Bob Dalton, Bat Masterson, and Buffalo Bill — in "Things I Love: The Many Collections of William I. Koch," which opens Wednesday, August 31 and runs through November 13. No word yet on whether you’ll be able to climb into one of those yachts and spin the tiller. The MFA’s at 465 Huntington Ave, Boston | 617.267.9300.
