And the South End’s Perdix has put its spin on the summertime favorite, combining two classic desserts: 7UP cake with fresh strawberries and vanilla cream. It’s the same moist, delicious 7UP cake your mom used to make for special occasions, but with a hint of lemon and a touch of grown-up-ness to it. Fresh strawberries, with their just-picked, sweet and juicy taste of summer, are spooned generously around the cake, and the smooth and decadent vanilla cream surely comes from neither nozzled can nor plastic tub.
