Saffron

The first contemporary Indian restaurant in Boston has some impressive moments, especially among the appetizers, where Indian flavors weave in and out of trendy nouvelle presentations to create something totally different and amazing. The "potato and duck bernasi," for instance, is a two-layer soup involving liquefied duck. Entrees are a little flatter, but the menu of traditional Indian dishes is special, if a tad pricey. Stylishly decorated. International crowd.
