  Hopeville Pond State Park, Rte. 201 (Exit 86 off the Connecticut Turnpike), three miles east of Jewett City, CT, (860) 376-0313 or (860) 376-2920. The 554-acre park includes a wooded setting next to the pond and offers swimming, fishing, boating, picnicking, hiking, a dumping station, concession, and 82 campsites with flush toilets and showers. Fee $10 per night.
