Conneticut's only zoo includes the usual assortment of animals plus ponyrides and is actively developing conservation strategies. Features the Tropics Building, a South American rainforest exhibit. Surrounded by Beardsley Park, which offers hiking and picnicking. Zoo and park open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rainforest exhibit and carousel open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Beardsley Zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day except public holidays. The New World Tropics Building is open from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm daily. The Carousel Museum is open seasonally from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission $6, $4 for children and seniors.
