  Henry Wadsworth-Longfellow House and the Center for Maine History, 485 Congress St., Portland, ME, (207) 774-1822. The boyhood home of poet Henry Wadsworth-Longfellow sits as a testament to literature in Maine and also houses the Center for Maine History. The house is open for tours daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tours $6, children $2. The Center for Maine History is also open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and features numerous exhibits over the summer. $4, $2 ages 6 to 18, and free for under 6.
