  Maine State Museum, 83 State House Station, Augusta, ME, (207) 287-2301. Exhibits on agriculture, fishing, shipbuilding, lumbering, and other aspects of Maine history. "12,000 Years in Maine" is an archaeological exhibit on Maine's prehistoric residents. Aomori Japanese artifacts will also be on view this summer. Open Mon. through Fri. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Sat. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sun. from 1 to 4 p.m. Free.
