  Hammersmith Farm, Harrison Ave., Ocean Drive, Newport, RI, (401) 846-7346. Built in 1887, this 28-room "summer cottage" is set atop 50 rolling acres overlooking Narragansett Bay. It was Jacqueline Kennedy's childhood summer home. The farm is the last working one in the city and dates to 1639. The gardens were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission $8.50, $3.50 for children 6 through 12.
