America's oldest surviving plantation house and an 18th-century garden on the bayside site of Roger Williams's 1637 trading post. Significant sections of the structure, rebuilt in 1678 after burning in King Philip's War, are preserved in the recent restoration. Open Thurs. through Mon. from noon to 4 p.m. for self-guided tours. In September, open Fri. through Sun. only. Admission $4, $1 for children 6 through 12.
