  Middlesex Fells Reservation, off Rte. 28 (take Exit 33 from I-93), Medford, MA, (781) 662-5230. The 2060-acre MDC park includes Wright's Tower, with an elevation of 243 feet, on South Border Road in the Medford section of the reservation. You can see the Boston skyline, and the MDC claims that on a good day you can spot a bit of New Hampshire to boot. Open daily from sunrise to sunset. Free.
