Best sports bar

Former Red Sox player Wade Boggs ate fried chicken before every ball game, a streak he maintained for 13 years. The Coolidge Corner Clubhouse ignored this when it named its grilled-chicken-teriyaki salad after the fried-fowl lover, but that didn't deter Phoenix readers from making the Clubhouse this year's sports-bar champion. The Clubhouse boasts 17 TVs, 36 microbrews on tap, weekend brunch, and a full menu served until 1:15 a.m., with items named after star Boston athletes (Ted Williams, Cam Neely, Larry Bird, and Drew Bledsoe, to name a few), not to mention the Boston Garden (a salad, naturally).

Coolidge Corner Clubhouse, 307A-309 Harvard Street, Brookline, (617) 566-4948.
